‘Everyone Equal Everyone Happy’
The Subject Leader for Music is Miss C. Harper
South Hiendley Primary School aims to provide a musical experience that is positive, gratifying and inspiring. Children are encouraged to take part in numerous musical opportunities that build confidence and self-belief.
Through singing, children learn about the organisation and arrangement of music. They learn to value and understand different forms of music and as children progress; they maintain their concentration for longer and listen to extended pieces. Children develop their abilities to describe music and learn that they can use words to represent feelings and emotions. We teach them the self-controlled skills of recognising pulse and pitch and show them how to work together when composing music or performing for audiences.
Our main goal is to perfect the skills implemented by the Music National Curriculum aims and objectives. Its intent is to provide greater clarity and flexibility, allowing for the development and progression of each child’s individual learning. Our music scheme of work complements this and scaffolds learning opportunities through each Key Stage.
